Lemoon in the cloud

As of today it is easier than ever to install Lemoon in the Cloud. We are now available in the Windows Azure App Gallery which means you can get an installation of Lemoon up and running in Windows Azure in a couple of minutes. See our Windows Azure article for more information.

You can also download and install Lemoon from the Windows Web App Gallery and the Visual Studio Gallery.

This is a major update. The main focus of this release was upgrading the .NET framework and all other dependencies to their latest versions (see the changelog below for details). Note that since we have upgraded to .NET Framework 4.5 you will need to use Visual Studio 2012 or WebMatrix when developing with Lemoon.

Features

The following features and updates were introduced in this version.

  • Lemoon updated to target the .NET 4.5 Framework
  • Lemoon updated to use MVC 4
  • Lemoon updated to use TinyMCE 3.5.8
  • Lemoon updated to use Plupload 1.5.7
  • Lemoon project template updated to use latest versions of modernizr, twitter bootstrap and jquery.
  • Lemoon project template updated to use System.Web.Optimization instead of SquishIt for bundling and minification of JavaScript and CSS.
  • Added many more options for creating image thumbnails in Mindroute.Core.Services.ImageService.
  • Added option to develop Lemoon projects with [WebMatrix](http://www.microsoft.com/web/webmatrix/)

Fixes

The following issues have been fixed in this version.

  • Insert link in HTML editor does not use correct binding for sites with virtual dirs, e.g www.mysite.com/sv.
  • Edit HTML source does not work in IE10.
  • Right click in admin tree view fails with error message "Load context menu failed".
  • Contentpickers sometimes does not submit all values.

Deprecations and breaking changes

The following classes, methods and properties have been removed. Classes and methods for manipulating images can now be found in the Mindroute.Core.Imaging namespace.

  • ImageService.CreateBitmap
  • ImageService.Crop
  • ImageService.Save
  • ImageSevice.Scale
  • ImageService.GetThumb (use ImageService.Resize instead)
  • ContentHelper.ThumbUrl(x, y, w, h)

Lemoon 4.5.2 is released

This is a minor update with some small improvements and bugfixes.

Features

  • Improve indexing of files (filename and extension)
  • Function for restarting the application
  • OutputCachePlugin should clear cache OnContentMoved
  • Extension method for returning a random item from a collection

Fixes

  • Permalink for files does not include path of parent folder
  • Feeds cannot be redirected with alias

  • Improve ContentRef links in admin
  • Upgrade TinyMCE from 3.4.9 to 3.5.2

  • Create new site. Validation error highlights wrong property

Lemoon 4.5.0 is released

This is a large release that improves routing and url generation and provides even better SEO techniques such as 301-redirects etc. Lemoon has also been upgraded to target the .NET 4 framework, and all external libraries have been updated to their latest versions.

Features

  • Better slug generation for non alpha characters.
  • Overloads for ContentService.Get, Insert, Update that does not check permissions.
  • Improvements to the Url() extension method.
  • Upgrade to .NET 4 and MVC3.
  • Support for Robots META tag.
  • Support for bindings with internationalized domain names.
  • Support for google-site-verification META tag for Google Webmaster Tools.
  • New html5 project template based on twitter bootstrap.
  • By default, urls should always contain the full path, e.g. /about/contact instead of /contact.
  • Clearing the slug field should generate new slug.
  • Ability to set status codes for alias, e.g. HTTP 301 Moved Permanently.
  • Setting for content type indicating if content should be accessible via url (IsRoutable).
  • Upgrade to TinyMCE 3.4.9.
  • Path/Virtual directory support for site bindings, e.g. www.mysite.com/en/.
  • Switch from log4net to NLog.
  • Setup optionally creates sample content, i.e. populates the site with content items for home, news, about, contact, search, 404 and 500.
  • Distribute Lemoon as a Visual Studio .vsix project template.

Fixes

  • The robots.txt file is not valid according to Google Webmaster Tools.
  • Fileupload broken in Firefox 7+.
  • ContentService.GetAll(int languageID) returns content from all sites.

Lemoon 4.4.0 is here

The main focus of this release has been on Windows Azure support. We have also replaced SQL Server fulltext search with Lucene which means Lemoon can run on a standard SQL Server Express database without Advanced Services.
